5 Useful Skin Tips

Throughout my skin care journey, I have learned a lot. I suffered with acne for the majority of my teenage life and the beginning of my adulthood. Therefore, getting clear, radiant skin care was my sole priority at that time. What I learned in the past couple of years is what I would now like to share with you all. These tips are not groundbreaking, but just simple suggestions that you can add or tweak into your skin regime to help your skin look more radiant, clear and healthy.

  1. Drink Lots of Water.

This is something you may have heard several times from several people, but water really does help your skin look its best. Drinking 2L or even more water (the amount of water to drink depends on an individuals height and weight) flushes out all of the harsh toxins and hydrates your skin. So I suggest that you drink up, plus there’s so many other benefits that water has, such as the promotion of weight loss.

2. Exercise.

Doing any form of cardio, such as jumping jacks or skipping rope helps promote blood flow throughout the body and in the face, causing your skin to build healthier skin cells. In result, this causes your skin to look fresh, while bringing a glow to your face (not the glow you get from sweating, but a radiant glow). This was in fact one of the suggestions that I received from a homeopathy that I once visited. In addition, like drinking more water, exercise too has other health benefits, such as becoming stronger and leaner.

  1. Massage Your Skin.

Massaging your skin is very important, it increases blood flow, hydrates the skin, reduces any tension in the face, helps your skin relax and rejuvenate. There are a variety of products that can be used to massage your face, such as coconut oil, lotions or any product that has a slippery resistance to it. I feel like a lot of people do not massage their skin or not aware that this is one way to achieve younger, healthier skin. The time spent massaging is total up to you, however what’s important to remember is that you must use curricular motions when doing so and avoid pulling or stretching your skin.

  1. Keep Your Skin Hydrated.

You should be using a moisturizer to keep your skin from feeling dry. Dry skin can cause the feeling of stretched out skin that can easily lead to wrinkles. However, if you are like me, you may face the problem of feeling or looking oily after using moisturizer, in this case it is important to find the right moisturizer that best suits you, for instance using a thin moisture instead of thick. Also, remember not to overdue the amount of lotion you use.

  1. Do Not Over Wash Your Face.

In a day, you should be washing your face twice, once in the morning and once at night. It is important not to wash your face too many times per day because it can cause extremely dry skin, leading to aging skin or even breakouts. However, it also important that you do not under wash your face. Not washing your face can lead to clogged pores, resulting in breakouts. Side Tip: After washing your face, remember to pat dry and not scrub, otherwise your skin will get irritated and increase or spread any breakouts that you may have on your skin.
